Tallis and Tefillin bag
This project was probably my favorite to create.
The assignment was to create a product using 3D printing and weaving.
I love how this project is so elegant, simplistic, and aesthetically designed.
Please take a deeper look, and enjoy.

The Journey
The Inspiration
The Weaving idea sparked when I saw this Image. The Pattern is so classy. But what really excited me was the potential of this pattern in the Jewish world of design. This man doesn't know it, but hidden in his pattern are many "Magen David"s (Star of David).

Forming An Idea
Creating this weave out of string, and then placing it above fabric, forming a pouch, a Tallis and Teffillin bag. First I tested the weave on simple yarn, to better understand the technique.

Choosing Materials
I decided to go with golden tight string, and navy velvet. This combination achieved the right balance for an elegant, and high end look. The idea was for the background to be dark in order to allow the star- the weave to shine.

The 3D Techno
After designing and printing multiple clips to personalize the bag, I came to the conclusion that the clip has to go behind the weave in order to get the ultimate effect. Look closely to see the clip hatched onto the string.
